Are your kitchen drawers making you crazy? In just 3 steps, you can organize your kitchen drawers and simplify your life.
Since the start of the year, I have slowly organized little spaces in my house.
The kitchen is one of the most important rooms that badly needs organizational help.
No matter how small or large our kitchen may seem, it seems to always be full of stuff.
Being able to reorganize it has been a game-changer!
Next was the dreaded utensil draw.
Oh my goodness. Is it really necessary to have so many kitchen tools and gadgets??
Although it was already driving me insane, a few of my close friends commented on the chaos in our kitchen drawers, and I decided to do something about it!
I will show you how to organize your kitchen drawers with the help of some In-Drawer Organization Tools from HEXA. This is done in just 3 simple steps.

3 Steps to Organize Your Kitchen Drawers
Step 1 – Inspect Your Kitchen Drawers
You should first get everything out of your drawer.
Once your kitchen drawer has been completely empty, it’s time to start taking inventory of all kitchen gadgets and utensils you own.
You know you have many of them!
The question is: Which do you use?
As you organize your spice drawer, you may find things in your utensils that you didn’t know existed.
(Hello, cherry tomato slicer ….?)and garlic press
These are some things to consider when you decide what should stay and what should go.
- When was the last time that you used it?
- It’s time to throw it out if you haven’t used it for 6 months.
- Are you using multiple utensils?
- You might be ready to let go of some of your tools or utensils if you have several of them. It’s likely that most people have several wooden spoons or silicone spatulas but we don’t really need them all.
- Do you have a place to store these items?
- Although our kitchen utensil drawer was a sort of a catch-all for all things, there were some things that I could keep somewhere else.
- My baking supplies were kept in a plastic container with random cookie cutters.
- The pantry was designated for grilling tools and utensils.
- My most frequently used utensils (wooden spoons and spatulas), were moved to a countertop utensil rack.
- Although our kitchen utensil drawer was a sort of a catch-all for all things, there were some things that I could keep somewhere else.
After you have decided which items you want to keep and which you wish to donate, you can either toss or donate those items.

Step 2: Wipe Out Your Kitchen Drawers
What is the most recent time you cleaned out your kitchen drawers?
If I’m honest, the last time this happened was when we moved into the house.
Over time, dirt, dust, and crumbs collect in those drawers….even if you don’t realize it!
You won’t likely need to empty or organize your drawers again for a while, so give them a quick cleaning!
Use this quick method to wipe down your drawers:
- Soap+Water+Sponge
- All-Purpose Kitchen Spray
- Baby Wipe or Wet Towel (if time is tight)

Step 3 – Use drawer trays and/or bins to keep things tidy
Here’s the place where the magic happens: drawer trays or bins are used to organize your kitchen utensils, gadgets, and to prevent your drawers from becoming crazy.
- Expandable Trays
- Many of these kitchen drawer organizers can be expanded, so you can resize them to fit your space.
- Dirt-proof Design
- The hexagon-shaped trays’ open bottom prevents dirt, dust, and crumbs from collecting in them.
- There are many sizes and design options
- There are many sizes and designs to suit your in-drawer organization needs.
- The modular and modern design of these organizers allows you to adjust how things are organized according to size.
- Affordable
- Contrary to other organizational containers, I found very affordable products on Amazon.
Similar to how I organized my dollar-store pantry and my spices in a spice drawer, having a place for everything makes it easier to manage your kitchen.
