What is a Low Carb Drink?
Low-carb beverages don’t have any added sugars or sweeteners. Even for water-lovers, drinking water every day can get old.
This is why we have created this list of low-carb beverages to keep you hydrated this summer. You can make most of these drinks at home, or you can get them from your local grocery store.
DIY is more healthy, but you can find most of these items at your local grocery store.
1. Unsweetened Almond Milk
Almond milk sweetened with sugars or other sweeteners is not low carb. Unsweetened almond milk, however, is low in carbs and high in many nutrients.
Almond milk can be made in a matter of minutes.
You only need one cup of almonds, four cups of filtered tap water, and four cups of milk.
- Allow the almonds to soak for at least 4-6 hours.
- Blend your almonds with filtered water until smooth and creamy.
- Then strain the almond pulp through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth.
Almond milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in an airtight container.
2. Tomato & Cucumber Juice
Cucumbers contain high amounts of water, while tomatoes are rich in essential ingredients, including antioxidants.
Combining these two vegetables makes a detoxifying, nutrient-rich beverage with zero carbs. This is the ideal drink to combat fat. This recipe is easy to make at home with tomatoes, cucumbers, and a blender.
You will need one cup of cucumber juice for every three cups of tomato juice. Enjoy in a glass. To add flavor, you can add fresh parsley or cilantro, basil, mint, or both.
3. Strawberry-infused water
Strawberry-infused water is the perfect summer drink! It tastes delicious and is full of nutrients.
You will need four cups of strawberry slices and one cup of cucumber slides to make strawberry-infused water.

You can also drink other fruit-infused water besides that of strawberry. You can mix and match any combination of your favorite fruits or vegetables.

Coconut milk isn’t milk at all. Coconut milk is a thick, creamy mixture of coconut and water.

5. Herbal Teas
The best option for herbal teas is always to make your own. The nutritional value of herbal teas will vary depending on the combination of herbs used.
These are some of the most common ingredients in herbal teas:
- Hibiscus • Lavender
- Peppermint • Chamomile
Be aware that many herbal teas found in grocery stores are sweetened with artificial sweeteners. It is better to make your own tea using fresh herbs.
6. Protein Shakes
You need to be cautious when buying protein powder. Many brands taste like chalk, lie about their protein content, or have high levels of hidden sugars.
Gold Standard Anabolic Whey Protein, Chocolate flavor is my personal preference for protein powder.
It is delicious and doesn’t contain any hidden ingredients.
Protein shakes can be a great option for meal replacement when you’re in a hurry. Simply add one tablespoon of your favorite protein powder to an eight-ounce blender container, shake it up, and you’re good to go!

Caffeine intake can pose a risk to your health. However, a cup of black coffee every morning is good for your health.
Black coffee increases your metabolism and helps you lose weight.
