It can be difficult to find the right date idea. As a young adult, it was difficult to find the right date idea.
For those in long-term relationships, it is possible to run out of ideas and yet we want new things for both our partners and ourselves.
This is not a complete list of things you can do, but rather a guide to help you find the right inspiration.
Nothing is more attractive or thoughtful than your partner listening to what you have to say. Then taking notes and making it happen.
Example: I recall my partner making a comment about what kind of laptop they wanted.
I didn’t say anything, but I excused myself and set up a reminder on my smartphone for two weeks ahead of time to ensure it was happening.
They were thrilled to hear that I remembered something they hadn’t mentioned in a while and they were touched when it happened.
It made their evening special, and you can do the same for your partner.
2. Indulge Your Spouse’s Pet interest.
Sometimes, my partner and I would go on walks together. They would take me to places they knew I would love.
It’s romantic. It’s easy to make happen and it’s charming.
3. Relive your childhood
On Saturday mornings, I would make a huge breakfast and then we’d set up a tent in the living room using blankets and chairs.
We’d then watch superhero cartoons while wearing our pajamas.
4. Have a theme night
Your clothes and the food and drinks you consume should match the theme.
Example: On Valentine’s Day my partner and I went to a party with a 90’s theme. We had to find the perfect hairstyles and outfits together. We laughed and talked.
Made jokes. It was a wonderful experience all around.
5. Make them a special meal
This one is great fun. You can make a huge breakfast, arrange it beautifully, or prepare a candlelit dinner with a romantic song. It will be a great gesture for your partner.
You can make this as simple or complex as you like.
It is possible to map out a route that will take you past beautiful natural and architectural sites, as well as places that have meaning.
You’ll be able to spend time with them just by going out. Walking through a city makes it seem more alive and vibrant.
7. Try a new type of ethnic cuisine you’ve never tried before
It is possible that you will like Vietnamese, Korean, and Vietnamese food. Stop by an ethnic grocery shop with your date to do a bit of shopping.
This one is much simpler than you think. Book a massage for yourself and then ask your partner what they would like.
You can let your partner choose a longer massage if they prefer. You have the option to either extend your massage to make it longer or to walk to a bookstore or coffee shop after you’re done.
Then wait for them to arrive. After the massage, you can enjoy a cup of coffee together or read books together.
It’s great fun in any way.
